Join us as we unveil the Spring 2027 edition of Healing Family Wounds Magazine and celebrate the voices, relationships, creativity, and wisdom that strengthen our community.
This is more than a magazine release. It is an immersive intergenerational experience designed for single adults, couples, youth, elders, and families.

One Shared Celebration
Single Adult Experience
Connect through meaningful conversations about belonging, friendship, purpose, self-leadership, and the relationships you want to nurture.
Activities may include:
- Reflection and Connection Cards
- Guided conversations about building a full and connected life
- Elegant networking
- Personal relationship and community connection goals
This experience honors single adulthood as a meaningful season of growth, connection, purpose, and possibility.
Couples Experience
Pause, reconnect, and reflect on what helps you and your partner feel like a team.
Activities may include:
- Couples Conversation Cards
- “I Feel Supported When…” listening activity
- Shared vision and legacy reflection
- A relationship commitment to carry forward after the celebration
Whether you are dating, engaged, newly married, or have shared many years together, this experience invites you to strengthen friendship, communication, and partnership.
Youth Experience
Young people will have a dedicated creative space to express themselves, build confidence, explore healthy relationships, and contribute their voices to the celebration.
Activities will include:
- Youth Editorial Studio
- Arts and crafts
- Magazine-cover and headline creation
- Healthy Relationship Green Flags activity
- Identity and self-expression activities
- Poetry, storytelling, and creative writing
- Youth leadership and community-building activities
Youth participation in individual activities and public sharing is optional.
Elders Experience
Our elders are not simply attending—they are helping carry the wisdom of our community forward.
The Elders Living Library will invite elders to share stories, cultural knowledge, life lessons, and hopes for future generations.
Activities may include:
- Guided storytelling prompts
- Wisdom for the Next Generation cards
- Legacy reflections
- Intergenerational conversations with youth
- Optional audio or video legacy messages
Youth Arts and Crafts Experience
During the opening activities, youth will create original artwork and projects connected to identity, relationships, family, culture, healing, and community.
Creative opportunities may include:
- Painting and drawing
- Collage and mixed-media art
- Personal affirmation cards
- Magazine-cover design
- Cultural artwork
- Poetry and creative writing
- “What I Want Adults to Understand” message cards
- “What I Want My Generation to Carry Forward” legacy art
Selected projects will be displayed in the Youth Voices Art Gallery for guests to view and celebrate.
Youth Talent Show
In addition to the Youth Arts and Crafts Experience, the celebration will feature a dedicated Youth Talent Show.
Young people may share their gifts through:
- Singing
- Dance
- Spoken word or poetry
- Instrumental music
- Comedy
- Cultural storytelling
- Dramatic performance
- Fashion or wearable art
- Reading an original story
- Other age-appropriate creative talents
Youth Recognition
The purpose of the Youth Arts and Talent Showcase is to affirm creativity, courage, cultural pride, and self-expression—not to create unhealthy competition.
Recognition may include:

Every participating young person will be celebrated for contributing their voice and talent.
The Official Magazine Reveal
Be present when the Spring 2027 edition of Healing Family Wounds Magazine is unveiled for the first time.
The reveal will include:
- A ceremonial countdown
- Presentation of the new magazine cover
- Recognition of contributors, partners, and sponsors
- Reflections representing different generations
- An official community photograph
- The opportunity to explore the stories and ideas featured in the new edition
This moment celebrates the people whose courage, wisdom, creativity, and lived experiences make the magazine possible.
Guided Community Conversation
Guests will gather in small intergenerational groups to explore an important question:
What are we ready to stop passing on—and what strengths must we intentionally carry forward?
Each group will identify:
- One inherited pattern our communities need to interrupt
- One cultural, relational, or family strength we must preserve
- One action we can take to build healthier families and communities
Guests may speak, write, listen, or respectfully pass. No one will be required to disclose personal or painful experiences publicly.
Community Dance Celebration
We will move from reflection into joy through an intergenerational community dance.
Youth and elders will be invited to open the dance floor together, followed by music and dancing across cultures, regions, and generations.

You do not have to dance to participate. Guests are welcome to clap, cheer, watch, and celebrate from their seats.

The detailed program schedule will be provided to registered guests.
Photography and Video Notice
Photography and video recording will take place during the Spring 2027 Release and Community Celebration. Images and recordings may be used by Healing Family Wounds Magazine and Healing Family Wounds Organization for event documentation, publications, websites, social media, educational materials, and future event promotion.
Media Preferences for Guests:
- Adult guests can indicate their photography and video preference.
- Parents or legal guardians can provide or decline media permission for each youth participant.
- Talent Show participants will respond to a media-consent question connected to their performance.
- Declining media permission will not prevent anyone from attending or participating in the event.
Guests who do not wish to be photographed or recorded should also notify the registration team at check-in. A discreet no-photo identifier will be provided so official photographers and videographers can make reasonable efforts to honor that preference.
Guest Photography Guidelines
Guests are welcome to take personal photographs in approved areas, including the fashion and magazine-cover photo experiences.
However, all guests are asked to follow these expectations:
- Do not photograph or record a child who is not your own without permission from the child’s parent or legal guardian.
- Do not photograph or record anyone displaying the event’s no-photo identifier.
- Ask permission before posting identifiable images of other guests.
- Do not record personal stories or reflections shared during community conversations or the Healing Circle without explicit permission.
- Avoid flash photography or disruptive recording during performances, speakers, the magazine reveal, and reflective activities.
- Respect instructions from event staff regarding designated photo, limited-photo, and photo-free moments.
A designated photo area will be available for guests who want portraits and group photographs.
Elegant African Party Attire
This celebration is an opportunity to honor culture, creativity, identity, and community through fashion.
Guests are encouraged to wear elegant African formal or African-inspired party attire. Come dressed in the colors, textiles, embroidery, and cultural expressions that make you feel confident and connected.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who is invited?
Single adults, couples, youth, elders, and families are all welcome. The event is intentionally designed to bring generations together.
Do I have to participate in every activity?
No. Guests may choose the activities that feel comfortable and meaningful to them.
Does my child have to participate in the Talent Show?
No. Youth may enjoy arts and crafts, the Editorial Studio, healthy relationship activities, the Youth Voices Gallery, and the celebration without performing.
How do I register my young person for the Talent Show?
Select the Youth Talent Show Sign-Up option during ticket checkout and complete the requested performance information. Completing this section communicates interest; participation will be confirmed by the event team.
May I take pictures?
Personal photography is permitted in approved areas. Guests must respect no-photo identifiers, avoid recording personal Healing Circle reflections, and receive parent or guardian permission before photographing children who are not their own.
What if I do not want to be photographed?
Indicate your preference during checkout and notify the registration team when you arrive. You will receive a discreet no-photo identifier.
What should I wear?
Elegant African formal or African-inspired party attire is encouraged.
Where will the event be held?
The celebration will take place in the Twin Cities. The final location will be announced and shared with registered guests.
